Riga photos

Old Riga September 2020

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Riga (and all of Latvia) was closed to tourists. In September 2020, I spent several Sundays walking through the Old Town, photographing the (almost) empty streets and medieval city architecture.

Riga Through My Eyes – A Photogenic City Full of Contrasts

Riga is a city I called home for many years – a place that continues to enchant me with its architecture, history, and rhythm of life. As a photographer, I believe everyone should be able to capture and showcase their surroundings through a personal lens. Riga is not just the capital of Latvia – it is a city that inspires, surprises, and speaks visually in every season.

Photogenic and Multi-layered – Riga, as I See It

Riga is a city of contrasts – Gothic churches, Art Nouveau facades, industrial districts, and peaceful green parks create a truly unique urban landscape. Over the years, I’ve photographed Riga in golden hour, in autumn colors, and during vibrant summer days, always looking for new angles and light.

My photos aim to highlight the real colors, life, and quiet corners of the city, capturing moments that often go unnoticed by passersby. I don’t use heavy filters or artificial tones – I believe in authenticity and natural light that brings out Riga’s true character.
